+Can Maxsus Inc. cover the cost of my deductible?
As a reputable contractor, Maxsus Inc. will in NO situation offer to cover the cost of any insurance deductibles as doing so is a violation of most state laws.  However, we do offer special Deals & Savings Programs that may help a homeowner reduce or recoup the burden of any out of pocket expenses.

+What do I do after I have filed my claim?
Your insurance provider will then assign an adjuster who will visit your property to inspect it and confirm and document the severity of any damage. Maxsus Inc. strongly recommends that our clients have one of our qualified Field Supervisors/Certified Inspectors onsite during this initial adjustment meeting to help negotiate the proper claim settlement. Our team is well trained and knows what it takes to complete the roofing project and will be sure the settlement includes everything you need to restore your home to pre-storm condition. Maxsus Inc. will then provide your insurance carrier with a full Aerial Analysis from Eagleview.com and scope report from Acculynx.com to ensure your home is estimated with the most advanced technology available. This ensures there are no discrepancies on size or estimating materials, making the process clear and painless.

Once a settlement is figured, most insurance carriers mail the claim summary within 7-10 days. This settlement is the guideline of specifications for the contractor to follow. The insurance providers generally use predetermined prices, based on market analysis, for which they estimate each item. Once this claim summary arrives, we will meet back with you to discuss its content, review the quantitative estimates and discuss the construction process.

+What is this depreciation business all about?
Almost all insurance carriers apply depreciation to each item in a settlement. Think of this as hold back for the difference in value of what your roofing/siding is worth aged (damaged) vs. what it will be worth when it’s newly restored. Maxsus Inc. Roofing & Restorations always performs the project based off the insurance company’s settlement so that when the repairs are complete, we can issue the proper invoice to your carrier for you. When we do so, the insurance carrier then pays you only for the depreciation they applied for the items repaired.

You will receive a call from a Maxsus representative stating the invoice is ready to be submitted. When you receive this call, it is wise to wait a few days and call your carrier to ensure they have sent your final payment to you. In order for you to receive the depreciation amount in full, you must complete the claim in full and provide invoices for the work. Maxsus Inc. sends this courtesy invoice for you and we place a follow up call to your carrier to ensure they issue you the final amounts owed.

+What happens when I have a mortgage open on my home?
Most of our clients restoring their homes through an insurance claim find their claim drafts have their mortgage carrier endorsed as an additional payee. Your insurance company adds your mortgage company on the check because they have a vested interest in the home. In the event the claim repairs are not completed, the mortgage carrier is carrying the loan on a home worth less than appraised.

The mortgage companies can be incredibly tedious to work with and in recent years, due to the failing housing market, your involvement may be required. Our staff will facilitate the process with diligence and tenacity but we may need a follow up call or two from you. It is crucial for us to work together so you receive your funding in a timely manner.

+What if something is left out in the claim that we find during construction?
In order for Maxsus Inc. to ensure we provide you with the best products and craftsmanship possible, it is crucial your carrier covers the claim in full. For example, there are over 30 steps in the re-roofing process. Failure to cover one of these steps results in an inferior roofing/siding system.

If your Maxus Inc. Field Supervisor or your insurance providers assigned adjuster misses something crucial in our original claim, we can then submit a request for additional funding for any left out items or labor.  This request is called a “supplement request”.  You will benefit with the assistance of one our qualified supplement claims specialist to ensure your carrier covers the project step by step, never missing critical components in the process.

Most items missed by the insurance carrier are simple oversights. We can at any time provide them with pictures, diagrams, estimates, and other project files that are stored in Acculynx and backed up on our servers so the claim process continues without interruption.

+What happens with any left over materials?
In most cases we will supply each project with extra materials beyond the scope of work to ensure that when a project is running short on materials at the end of the day when all the supply distributors have closed, our crews will have enough material to complete the job without having to leave a roof incomplete for any period of time.

This extra material is the property of Maxsus Inc. and must be returned.

Roof Installation & Preparation

+What do I need to do to prepare for the installation of my new roof?
Remove all loose items from walls and shelves. The constant hammering may cause enough vibration to shake these items down. Make sure to clear your driveway and items directly surrounding your home. Also, please see that electrical power is provided to the outside of your home. If exterior plugs are not available, please run an extension cord through a window or door.

We created the following document with some information on preparing for installation that addresses common issues. Please download this .PDF and look it over to get an idea of what is to be expected.
